Vogue Festival 2012. Part 1

Tom Ford, designer and the film director, in conversation with Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman.

Even from the outskirt of the fabulous theatre hall, I could see his perfect prim suit. Tom Ford is in his 50s, but still looks damn good. After a several straight-forward questions about his background, the atmosphere went to even more welcoming. "In fact I'm very shy"- said Tom Ford on his appearance in many of his own advertising. "I'm the face of the brand. With Chanel, you feel that Karl Lagerfeld's personality has really melded with Coco's -  but not everyone knows yet who I am, so that's why I'm in the pictures. I don't like having my picture taken but it helps people to respond,..". Also describing his work as a fashion designer, he notes that his concept is more "couture-like", the ageless classics that will stay forever..

Is it all about the Red Carpet? Panel discussion including William Banks-Blaney, Richard Young and Rachel Zoe.

Diverse personalities in every sense of the word. Rachel Zoe looking gorgeous in her own design: sequin jacket with white shirt and the black fur coat throwing over her shoulders. That how the LA girl looks on the official part. The attempt of looking formal, but still those sparks, those feathers and see what I mean? However, I would say very big "however". Seeing her clothes in real...not that I didn't quite like it but it wasn't that eye-catching. The clothes should caught your attention straight away. Something should grab you inside, craving for that piece. It didn't happen to me, unfortunately. But still, Rachel Zoe is funky and charismatic and professional from all the angles.
As a topic for a discussion was red carpet, how could they not mention the greatest look. The several iconic looks from the red carpet were presented, like Nicole K in John Galliano or Julia Roberts in the marvelous Valentino vintage gown. But guess what took the whole attention of the audience? Two words- white goddess, Gwyneth Paltrow. Stunning Calvin Klein gown with Tom Ford cape. The marble statue of a goddess. The history changed.

Ask the models. A Q&A discussion with a panel of star models including Lily Cole, Jourdan Dunn, Eva Herzigova and Natalia Vodianova.

It was a pleasure, hearing these strong Russian Rrrr's during the talk. She was smiling and giggling and talking almost all the time, not giving a word to put in for other girls. Natashka konechno dala zharu, druzja :D So many questions were answered. And although, some of them was directed straight to the future models, there was some great life experience given. "In this industry you have to learn how to say "no" to things"- said Natalia, "I think I always have to do what my heart tells me and find something that suits me."
Also did you know that Jourdan Dunn was found in the Primark, while she was trying on her sunglasses? Such a nonsense, isn't it? Or have you ever thought of how intelligent and wise is Lily Cole with her Cambridge diploma?
